How to Prepare Sambar Using Prakrithis Sambar Powder:
- Cook Toor Dal: Pressure cook 1 cup of toor dal with 2½ cups of water until soft and well-mashed.
- Prepare Vegetables: Cook your choice of chopped vegetables (such as drumstick, carrots, and beans) in water until tender.
- Grind Spice Paste: Grind ½ cup of fresh coconut with 2 tablespoons of Prakrithis Sambar Powder and a little water to form a smooth paste.
- Mix and Simmer: Add the cooked vegetables and the ground paste to the dal. Stir well and bring to a boil. Simmer on low heat for 8–10 minutes to let the flavors meld.
- Tempering: In a small pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, dry red chillies, curry leaves, and a pinch of asafoetida. Add this tempering to the sambar and mix well.
- Serve Hot: Enjoy with steamed rice, idli, dosa, or vada for a wholesome meal.
